03-4154 |  Antep |  Traditional Handwoven Kilim

Antep kilims, hand-woven kilims specific to the Gaziantep region, are considered a unique example of Turkish handicrafts. They are often inspired by local nature, culture and traditions, with their vibrant colors. They attract attention with a color palette that includes many colors such as red, blue and green. Geometric patterns and traditional motifs are inspired by the culture, geography or history of this region.

Traditional hand craftsmanship, each kilim reflects the personal weaving style of its master and brings with it quality and durability. In this traditional culture, we see that these kilims are used as wall decorations, bedspreads or floor coverings. The threads obtained from the wool of the sheep of the region are spun by hand, and when colored after natural herbal dyeing processes, they convey to us a natural work of art that lasts for many years.
